Tony Parisi of the Planning Committee announced that registration is now open and began to accept completed enrollment forms. He also discussed the Frequently Asked Questions About Turning Saturday. Below is the FAQ for Turning Saturday. Click on Turning Saturday on the navigaition bar on the home page will take you to the FAQ and a link to the registration form.

1.. What is Turning Saturday?
a) 13 sessions that the club has selected by ballot. Taught by the best turners in Central Illinois

2.. When is Turning Saturday?
a) November 10 at Woodcraft in Peoria starting at 8:45 AM until about 5:00 PM

3.. How do you register?
a) Two ways - complete the form tonight or print it off the website and mail it in. Would prefer if you paid the $20 registration fee, unless you are an instructor, and then the fee is $10

4.. Do I have to pre-register?
a) NO, but it helps us allocate lathes and equipment properly. AND you will only receive a Turning Saturday Tee shirt if you pre-register. Those that register at the door will not receive a tee shirt.

5.. Can I come without registering?
a) Yes, but only those individuals registering prior to November 1 will receive a Turning Saturday Tee-Shirt and the cost will still be $20. In effect those individuals registering at the door or after November 1st are being penalized. So register early.

6.. Do I have to attend the classes that I sign up for?
a) No, you are free to change your mind or try to take in two sessions at the same time.

7.. Do I have to be a member of CIW to attend?
a) No, visitors and guests are welcomed. We would like Turning Saturday to acquaint non-members with the club.

8.. Are members of other AAW clubs welcome?
a) Yes. We would still like them to pre-register.

9.. What are an assistant's responsibilities?
a) Primarily to assist in the hands on portion of the session. The instructor may elect to involve the assistant further, but that is at the discretion of the instructor.

10.. What do we need to bring?
a) Eye Protections and tools - depending upon your classes.
b) We could use more lathes. If you are able to bring a lathe, please contact Dennis at DennisM@MTCO.com. Also needed are grinders with Wolverine Jigs.
