The June meeting was held in our new home, James Pearce's shop at SW Washington St and Persimmon in Peoria. Here is a map to the new location. The address is: 1101 S.W. Washington St. Peoria Illinois 61602. We had 29 members in attendance.
Also attending was new member Dave Razunas. Welcome DAve. We look forward to seeing your work.
The President's Challenge for July is to turn a piece using one of Jennifer Costa's topics from the April discussion of Balance - demonstrating either Symetrical, Asymetrical, or Radial Balance.
Joe Landon has had a piece accepted for the 2009 AAW Symposium juried show, "Spirit of the Southwest". This exhibit will be at AAW headquarters in St. Paul following the symposium. Congratulations Joe.
Instructors are needed for "Turning Saturday. Interested members need to contact Frank Kobilsek.

Teaching Guide Available
A new 53 page downloadable woodturning teaching guide is available for AAW members. To access the file, log-on from the homepage. Then, on the left-hand side of the "Members Area Home" page, look for a button called "Downloadable Articles & Resources". Finally, click on "Complete Article List in Alphabetical Order" and look for the article named "Teaching Woodturning Basics".
