The April meeting was our first in our new home, James Pearce's shop at SW Washington St and Persimmon in Peoria. Here is a map to the new location. The address is: 1101 S.W. Washington St. Peoria Illinois 61602. We had 30 members in attendance including new member James Pearce. Welcome to the club James.
Attending the April meeting was new member John Wilkinson. Welcome John. We look forward to seeing your work. Attending the May meeting were visitors Dave Razunas from Dwight, IL, and Tom Hardy from Farmington, IL. WelcomeDave and Tom, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
The President's Challenge for July is to turn a piece using one of Jennifer Costa's topics from the April discussion of Balance - demonstrating either Symetrical, Asymetrical, or Radial Balance.
Joe Landon has had a piece accepted for the 2009 AAW Symposium juried show, "Spirit of the Southwest". This exhibit will be at AAW headquarters in St. Paul following the symposium. Congratulations Joe.

April Show and Tell drawing winners were Tom Tonozzi, Larry Moreau, Dave Bloom, Bob Briggs, Dave Lee, Roy Johnson, and Jack O'Bryan. Raffle winners were Jack O'Bryan, who won Frank Kobilsek's "Bring Back" piece, Paul Cobb, Frank Kobilsek, Larry Moreau, and Ron Ghighi.

In April, Jennifer Costa gave an excellent presentation focusing on Terminology and Theory of Form.
In May, Jerry Sievers gave an excellent demo for preparing a blank from the tree to get it ready for mounting on the lathe.
